It’s that time of the year! Christmas is coming and for most of us, holidays which of course means more hours on the water. So what better time to trail out new fishing gear? The choices are endless, but BCF makes it easy with their Christmas catalogue.
Scotty and Sammy Hitzke took to the shallow waters of Pummicestone Passage recently to test the latest line of Savage Gear products.
Sam had great success after only a couple of minutes on the water with the Savage Gear Salt 1DFR rod. 1DFR stands for one directional fibre reinforcement, making this rod super strong – four times stronger than your standard blank to be exact. According to Sam, this rod is perfect for lure fishing, and great for casting as well.
Scotty has a go at a new surface lure, the Savage Gear 3D Surface Pop Walker and boy does he knock it out of the park with this, catching his very first Flathead on a surface. Minutes later, he’s on again, this time it’s one of the largest Brim he’s caught in years.
