River Heads is a small town 15min south of Hervey Bay on a narrow peninsula bordered by the Great Sandy Strait, and the mouth of the Mary River.
It’s a popular place to jump onboard a vessel heading over to Fraser Island from the mainland, but Andrew is heading upstream to pick up a few mud crabs.
Your local BCF can get you sorted with crab pots and don’t forget to grab some rope and floats and mark them with your details.
If you’re planning on catching and cooking a few keepers, you might also want to pick up a crab cooker to save time boiling them up.
