Volunteer Marine Rescue Jacobs Well

Providing volunteer marine search and rescue services to the boating public across 2,700km of Queensland coast VMRAQ has 25 affiliated Squadrons located throughout the State of Queensland, Australia and these Squadrons provide marine search and rescue services to the boating public on a volunteer basis.

Operating in tropical & sub-tropical waters, our Squadrons extend from the southern Queensland border, to the remote Gulf of Carpentaria, Thursday Island and Torres Strait region, over 2,700km to the north.

We recently visited Marine Rescue Jacobs Well which operates from Moreton Bay to the Gold Coast Broadwater, the North Arm of the Coomera River, and including the Logan and Albert Rivers, Jumpinpin Bar and Offshore waters east of North and South Stradbroke Islands.

Whilst their primary role is Search and Rescue and providing Queensland Ambulance First Response on the water they also offer assistance with groundings, flat batteries, break downs, out of fuel. Their top tips – don’t forget to Log On and Log Off, so that we can assist with keeping you safe on the waters, wear a life jacket and keep your vessel in top condition!
