Water tow sports for boating enthusiasts

When the weather’s decent, you’ll usually find plenty of families on Lake Somerset, enjoying their tow sports. It’s the perfect destination just a couple of hours’ drive from Brisbane.

“It’s a great family-oriented sport. [It] brings the whole family together and it’s a fun sport,” explained Sam from Nautique Central. He’s an avid tow sport enthusiast and he’s no stranger to afternoons on Lake Somerset.

There are plenty of options when it comes to tow sports, including wakeboarding, wake-surfing, water skiing, barefoot skiing and more. As tow sports have evolved over the years, so have the boats! Nowadays, you can completely customise your ride!

The Nautique GS22 is an all-rounder when it comes to tow sports.

“This boat’s got plumb ballast, so you’ve got tanks under the floor and you can fill the tanks to create a bigger wave out the back,” explained Sam. “So, you’ve got pre-sets in the screen for different types of tow sports. You’ve got skiing, wake surfing, wakeboarding, tubing, knee boarding if you’re into that. Basically, at the click of a button it will set the boat up to the ballast settings and the speed settings to best suit whatever you’re doing,” said Sam.

If you’re keen to know more about boating, the Brisbane Boat Show is the perfect place to start! It’s on from Friday, 23rd August through to Sunday, 25th August 2019 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Tickets to the show are available online or you can buy them at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre door.
