Any regular visitor to K’gari (Fraser island) will know what a natural paradise the world’s largest sand island is. They would also be aware of the one stop shop they used to be Eurong Beach resort. Well, now everyone’s favourite place to visit for supplies or a stay on the island has been given a facelift to become K’gari Beach Resort.
While some things have changed, the resort still has all the amazing facilities that four-wheel drive enthusiasts have come to love. The convenience store, fuel and legendary bakery is still on site. Although the bakery may look a little different. It too has had some renovations with more seating and an enclosed, air-conditioned dining area.
Over 75% of the resort has been redone, including most bathrooms in the hotel rooms. King two-bedroom apartments are also available which feature two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed, and another with two single beds. Perfect for the family.
Oceanside on 75 is another new addition. This beach house, located across from the convenience store, can accommodate up to six people. It has two bedrooms, is full air-conditioned and features a kitchen, a large balcony to offer indoor and outdoor dining options and front yard.
The resort also specialises in every other aspect of the resort getaway lifestyle. There’s a pool surrounded by palm trees and a restaurant and bar, MacKenzie’s on 75 which now has a brand-new menu.
