All good things must come to an end, and unfortunately that includes caravanning adventures. However, there are a few things you need to be doing in between trips, so your trusty steed is ready to go, next time you’re heading out.
Keep it Covered
While you’re storing the van, make sure you keep it undercover. This will protect it from rain, wind and the sun. The sun’s UV rays can be extremely damaging to your van, so it’s important to limit exposure as much as possible. If you need to store your van out in the elements, a temporary caravan cover is a must.
Extending the life of your batteries
You want your van and everything inside to last as long as possible. That includes your batteries. Make sure you recharge them to extend the life. Your operator manual will tell you how often you should be doing this.
Check Your Fridge
This is one tip you don’t want to figure out the hard way. At the end of each trip, before you put the van away, check your fridge. Make sure you empty it and clean it out. Wipe it down, drying up as much moisture as you can. Then leave the door ajar. This will allow the fridge to air out.
