A caravanning trip that ticks all the boxes

There are a few things you can do to turn any old road trip, into a great one! Things like choosing a cracking destination, sharing your experiences with good company and planning fun activities along the way!

Southeast Queensland’s Scenic Rim delivers breathtaking scenery and Paradise Luxury Motor Homes provides the comforts of home when on the road.

Their range includes motorhomes, caravans and hybrid campers. Their latest model is the Paradise Pinnacle XBH1 hybrid caravan which is the ultimate off-road family caravan. Another popular addition to their fleet is the Paradise Liberation Platinum Motorhome. Their entire fleet has the highest quality craftsmanship and they are built at their factory on the Gold Coast. Aussie made, and designed for tough Aussie conditions!

Once you’ve settled on your perfect home on wheels, you’ll need to think about where to pull up for the night when exploring the Scenic Rim. Mount Barney Lodge is a favourite in the region thanks to its incredible views, peace and quiet and long list of family-friendly activities.

Another great spot, not too far from Mt Barney, is the family-run Bigriggen Camping and Caravan Park. It’s a little slice of the Australian bush – just an hour and a half from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It just happens to be where the Logan River and Burnett Creek meet, which means there’s plenty of fishing fun to be had. Anglers might catch a Mary River cod or a Spangled Perch.

For those wanting to stay a bit closer to town, the Beaudesert Caravan and Tourist Park is a great option. It has cabins, powered sites, excellent facilities and is just a short walk to shops and restaurants.

The Scenic Rim might be famous for its scenic countryside, but it’s even more renowned for the myriad of tastes it offers. A refreshing morning coffee can be enjoyed at The Rathlogan Olive Grove and Shed Café in Rathdowney, and in nearby Boonah, Oppy’s Fruit and Veg is your one-stop-shop for a great camp cook-up!

If you love your seafood then you can’t miss Freshwater Australian Crayfish Traders. They are growers of live crayfish, shrimps and redclaw and they deliver the freshest products to businesses, homes and shops across southeast Queensland.

One of the most popular stops on any Scenic Rim road adventure is Tamborine Mountain, with its cool mountain air and myriad of restaurants, wineries, national parks and accommodation options.

A place that combines great accommodation with a big list of exciting activities is Thunderbird Park. They say it’s where adventure joins nature. It offers glamping, bush lodges and camping. As for activities, you’ll need days to enjoy them all. There’s the famous treetop flying fox challenge, the thunderegg crystal mine, mini-golf, laser skirmish and so much more.

If you’re keen to get into the caravanning and motorhome lifestyle, there’s no better place to start than the “Let’s Go Brisbane Caravan and Outdoor Sale” run by Caravanning Queensland.

It’s on from Thursday the 28th ‘til Sunday the 31st of October at Brisbane Showgrounds. You can join interactive seminars, find travel inspiration and visit exhibitors showcasing their latest models.

While you’re there, make sure you say G’day to the guys from Paradise Luxury Motor Homes.
