Australian anglers are spoiled for choice when it comes to finding spots that offer a bit of fishing variety.
One place in Gladstone in Central Queensland. Martin catches up with a couple of locals who don’t mind sharing their secret fishing spots with him.
They tell him Gladstone is tops because it is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef plus it offers fishing from the estuaries and mangroves plus Awoonga Dam is always stocked with good sized barra.
When the lads son’t feel like the heavy lifting out on the reef, they’ll often tuck in around the mangroves of Gladstone Harbour and drop a few crab pots.
It’s here that Martin learns some of the best secrets about crabbing.
