A Diff Lock, or a locking differential, was invented in Australia about forty years ago. It works by locking both wheels on an axle. As if they’re on a common shaft. That makes both wheels turn together, even if one of them has no traction.
ARB’s air locker uses a compressor to activate the locking mechanism. It’s as easy as flicking a switch.
ARB Coopers Plains has a diff lock test track that can be adjusted with hydraulics and is used to simulate off road conditions. It’s a great way to see if a vehicle is ready to head into the bush.
