Big4 Mackay Blacks Beach

On our trip to Mackay earlier this year, we had to check out Big4 Mackay Blacks Beach — and they don’t kid around when they say their location is beachfront!

Set on five acres, this caravan park overlooks the southern islands of the Whitsundays (located just 15 minutes from the town centre) — offering guests the option to stay in their beach tents, villas, cabins, the new glamping tents… and of course in their own caravans or motorhomes.

Talking to managers, John and Michelle, it’s clear this park is their passion project! Having travelled the country in their own van, they now, and for the last 11 years, have welcomed families, singles and international visitors to their park in Blacks Beach.

We see more and more of young families that are now travelling the country… it’s good to see as the kids may not ever get the chance to see the beautiful country that we’ve got,” John said.

“It’s a totally different experience at the end of the day… it’s friendships that last forever that are born in caravan parks.”

Though, given the current circumstances, and with the temporary closure of all caravan parks in NSW and QLD, this means that when the time comes that business is ago — these guys will need your support more than ever.

A great way to stay up-to-date with the latest information is by checking out Caravanning Queensland’s website and Big4’s website.
