Bush to Beach through Bundy and Bargara

There is nothing like hitting the road and going out bush – it’s what we live to do here on Creek to Coast.

In our latest ep with Caravan HQ and BCF, we travelled a little off the beaten path, west of Childers to a bush camp that had all the elements of a great spot – flowing water, flat grass, quiet and scenic. The Big Rocks retreat definitely had the goods.

The Boys from Caravan HQ had their On The Move Adventure series vans in tow.

Think of them as luxury on wheels – attention to detail on the inside and all the right features to allow you to camp off-grid in style and comfort – think aircon, lithium batteries, adjustable airbags and their revolutionary independent wishbone suspension.

While the boys lapped it up in their vans, Kim and Scott didn’t do it too tough – their XTM double swags held their own, with double stitched seams and durable canvas – it kept them nice and dry when a downpour overnight surprised us.

The team also visited Bargara, a stunning spot on the coast near Bundaberg. Only steps away from the beach the Big4 Bargara holiday park is the perfect place for a relaxing stay – only a couple of moments away from the relaxed town centre, it’s a great base for a stay in a caravan or, one of their self contained cabins.

The team also hit the local BCF store for all the crabbing gear, went out on the Burnett River with local lad Kye and caught themselves two big chocolate bucks. Scotty appointed head chef, cooked them up with an old-school recipe – straight into a boiling pot of sea-water. And you wouldn’t believe how incredible they tasted – wowee!
