Setting up and packing down the camper trailer can often differ from a bigger caravan. You have a few considerations to think about with an RV that is smaller, but also with a few more bits and pieces to it.
We recently took our mate Chris Lagas from Stoney Creek Campers away to the beautiful Rosedale Estate…so he could give us the 101 on Camper Trailer setups. Firstly…and the most significant difference between a camper and a caravan is the amount of canvas. Camper trailers will often have canvas roofs, walls and awnings, so make sure they are dry before they get packed away after a trip. If you don’t have the ability to dry them off before you get home, make sure you unpack it on the driveway or the garage, so you’re not surprised by mold the next time you take it for a spin. Chris also recommends chocking the wheels of your camper trailer, regardless of how flat your site is, just for extra security. His final tip is actually to start your setup, before you even get to your campsite. Creating a checklist will be so helpful for you before you leave. It will save you from forgetting the bits and pieces you’ll need to make your trip that bit better. If you do happen to have just bought a new camper trailer, or perhaps you’re upgrading, make sure you contact the team from Youi, to get that pride and joy protected…pronto! |
