Exploring our Great State

There’s no more fun way to explore our great state of Queensland than in an off-road caravan. Caravan HQ is a family owned industry leader that offers excellent customer service and a big line up of brands. Their most innovative is On The Move which offers unique designs made with the highest quality. Their adventure series is particularly popular, offering a redesigned and lightweight chassis as well as state of the art suspension. They are designed for tough off road Aussie conditions and they come with a raft of luxury features that make them the ideal home away from home.

An awesome place to explore is North Queensland, famous for the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. A great place to base yourself is Forrest Beach Hotel. It’s a short drive from Ingham and has 52 powered sites and unpowered sites for up to 200 campers. There’s also a motel with comfy rooms if that’s more your style. It’s also home to a popular bar and bistro that offers great food and drink, and amazing views out to the Palm Island group.

Further north, Big 4 Port Douglas Glengarry Holiday Park is a great base for exploring the region. It’s ideal for campers and caravanners and has cosy cabins and villas that really are a home away from home. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained too, including an awesome water park that boasts 6 waterslides!

Best of all, nearby is Hook A Barra where visitors can try their luck hauling in monster barramundi from fully stocked ponds. There’s also a café on site and for an extra cost, visitors can take home the barramundi they catch.

Another popular tourist attraction in the region is the Daintree Discovery Centre. It showcases the wonders of the Daintree from every angle; whether it’s from the forest floor or 23 metres up in the forest canopy. It’s the ultimate way to experience this world heritage paradise.

A great spot to call home in the Daintree is Cape Tribulation Camping. It’s got an awesome bar and café that’s famous for its delicious pizzas, good amenities and powered and unpowered sites. Best of all, it’s only metres from the beach.

For any camping, fishing, caravanning or any other kind of outdoor adventure, you can’t go past your local BCF. They have an incredible range of products that will make your life outdoors much easier, fun and most importantly, unforgettable.
