If you’re reading this, there’s no doubt that you love your fishing (and Creek to Coast – thanks for tuning in by the way!). Well, if you can’t get out on the water or have just spent the day bending a rod, why not take in something equally great, footy! AFL to be more specific.
In Queensland, the team that we’re throwing our weight behind is the Brisbane Lions! They have a fantastic new headquarters, Brighton Homes Arena, based out at Springfield. These players go as hard on the field as Scotty or Olivia on a rod. Not only are the players great to watch, they’re also good company for a fish as Olivia recently found out – even if it might be the first time in a long time that they’ve picked up a reel.
The footy, fishing friends in question? Belle Dawes, a dynamic midfielder who won most competitive in the club in 2023, and Dakota Davidson, an imposing tall forward with a mean kick who brings an unmatched energy to the team. Both these players are hugely talented when it comes to a game, and just as entertaining when they throw a line in. Even if it only results in a small catty! A bigger highlight would be the recent premiership win.
