There’s a little-known campground at Ipswich that’s attraction is its old school.
Hardings Paddock Campground, 20 minutes outside the city has just modest facilities but it does allow you to light a campfire.
It’s set in Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate, which is isolated enough that all you’ll hear is the twitter of birds. But it’s also the perfect vantage point for bush walking, mountain biking and horse riding. Follow the trail to elevation and the reward is an amazing view.
