What’s the best time to go fishing?

The age old question – when is the best time to go fishing; when they’re on the bite?  When there is good weather and tides? Or when you’ve got the waterways all to yourself? Well in our opinion any time on the water is a good time, but it’s even better when you’ve got your favorite spot all to yourself.

So why not take a day mid-week and head out to a favourite spot of your own. We recently gave Gary Howard the hard *cough cough* job of doing just this, and we let him borrow our Isuzu D-MAX to tow his tinny.

The D-MAX works well as a toy hauler. With 3.5t breaked towing, it will be able to handle most of your toys when you need it to. Gary also makes the point that our X-Terrain model has a lockable hard lid on the tub, making a great spot to keep all your ropes safe while parked up at the boat ramp.

Gary’s favorite spot? Well one of his favorites is the Pumicestone Passage, between Donnybrook and Bribie Island. Were the fish on the bite? Not really. Was the weather stunning and blue skied? Not at all. But did he have the place to himself? Sure did!
