The wonderful thing about travelling in Queensland is that it’s not just big, it’s beautiful and when it comes to road trips, it doesn’t matter which direction you head, you’re in for a visual feast!
So if a road trip is on the cards, the Jayco All Terrain is a great option combining the best of both worlds when it comes to a caravan.
It’s Jayco’s toughest off-roader yet with aluminium furniture construction, checker plate armour and independent coil suspension. On the luxe side, it’s got beautiful modern interiors, an ensuite and air-con.
So what about the destination?
Lake Moogerah is just under an hour and a half south-west of Brisbane via the Cunningham Highway.
The great thing about this route is that it’s scattered with plenty of little roadside stalls offering fresh local produce for usually no more than a gold coin.
Camp Moogerah offers up plenty of options when it comes to camping, with powered and unpowered sites, amenities, cabins and lots of activities for the kids like basketball and tennis. The views are pretty impressive too!
Owner Barry Heap has been running the campgrounds for 12 years.
“The Aboriginal word for Moogerah is Land of Thunder.” He said. “This whole area that we’re in is a volcanic hole, from here to Ipswich.”
