Kilburnie Homestead

We travel a lot on the show. All across Queensland and further afar. Every now and then, we come across a little hidden gem that we can’t resist checking out.

Just off the road between Biloela and Gladstone is Kilburnie Homestead. Built in 1884, the now heritage listed property has many a story to tell.

John Campbell was the first to call the grounds home. He was initially only granted a 10 year lease, but 110 years later, and the family still lives on the land.

There is an onsite war museum, that documents the trials and tribulations of the Campbell family, as well as numerous historical pieces, telling a story of life on the land in the 1800s and early 1900s.

You can find all the details of Kilburnie Homestead at the Sandstone Wonders website.
