As of 2023, there were close to 800,000 registered RVs in Australia. What that tells us is Aussies LOVE to travel their own backyard.
Whether it’s hitting the red dirt of Western Queensland, escaping north to the cape, sneaking over the border or even traversing the country to our western coast…the exploring opportunities are seemingly endless.
We recently spent a week on the incredible east coast of Tasmania…and we reckon it’s a bit of an undiscovered caravanning paradise.
The coast is simply stunning, and we found someone who is lucky enough to call the place home.
“…there’s 400m of coast here on the property and of course the views…someone once said to me, why? And I said because it’s a new canvas every day it’s aa blank canvas when you wake up and every day is different. Look at it today, it’s absolutely booming in. Some days I’m up in the house and you can actually feel the waves hitting the rocks.”
Lynne runs Little Beach Co Glamping…the perfect weekend getaway spot with an even more perfect view. She says the region is ready and waiting for the touring crowd.
“So from my lounge room I can see the road on the way to Bicheno…and every 15 seconds there’s a movement. I reckon 1 in 3 is an RV. The fantastic thing about Tasmania is that there’s so much free camping. I didn’t realize that’s not a common thing on the mainland. So there’s so much free camping and so much availability.”
So if you’re thinking of somewhere a little different to roll the RV to, why not consider Tasmania?! Can we recommend keeping an eye on Little Beach Co…a little birdy tells us Lynne has a caravan park in the works!
