Motorama Jayco Adventurer

Nothing beats the versatility of a capable “all rounder” – and that applies just as much in the off-road world.

Take the new and improved Toyota Prado… The upgraded model now has increased towing capacity – taking it from a 2.5 tonnes limit up to a hefty 3 tonnes, as standard. That means greater options when it comes to hooking up your mobile holiday home and hitting the road.  Add all the usual advantages – easy to park; nippy around town; 7 seats; and incredible fuel capacity with a 150 litre tank – and you have a tough performer that’s as happy on the bitumen as it is off-road.

Another impressive “all rounder” in the 4WD universe is the Jayco Adventurer 15 foot Pop-Top. One of the toughest Jayco vans yet, the Adventurer is built to conquer all kinds of terrain – from corrugation to creek crossings. The compact pop-top means a lower profile when towing; less wind resistance; and greater air flow once it’s set up. But there’s no skimping on comfort: this model comes with a full indoor shower and toilet, unusual for a compact pop-top. There’s also a full kitchen with stove top, microwave and fridge. Outside, the Jayco Adventurer offers an external shower and kitchen plus plenty of storage and a solar panel on top. With underbody bush bars; a cutaway rear; and Max Tracks, as standard – the Adventurer is ready for anything.

Gordon Country in the Goomburra Valley, on Queensland’s southern downs, offers the best of both worlds too. A favourite with families, these peaceful campgrounds are set on 4,000 acres of working cattle property – with plenty of shady, creekside sites. You can light a campfire, settle back and watch the birds – or ramp up the adrenalin by taking your 4WD on some of Gordon Country’s challenging off-road tracks.

Head to Brisbane Camperland to check out the Jayco Adventurer – plus their full range of off-road caravans.

If the new and improved Prado impresses, you can take it for a test drive at Motorama Toyota – in Moorooka or Browns Plains.

And consider Gordon Country for your next family camping holiday. A flat one-off fee means you can use your 4WD on any of the off-road tracks for the duration of your stay.
