What to buy at BCF this Christmas

What is the perfect Christmas for you and your family? We reckon there’s a few things that you can’t go past. Bit of fresh seafood on the BBQ, maybe? Seven’s summer of cricket on the TV. Friends, family and of course… pressies! If you’re looking for a few gift ideas this festive season, look no further than BCF’s Christmas catalogue.

For the campers among us, Wanderer is coming to the party this Chrissy with a range of tents that suit all lifestyles. The family will have loads of room to move in the Nightfall Dome 10p tent. Nice and breezy for those hot summer days, plus the two end rooms are blacked out… meaning mum and dad won’t be woken by the early morning sun.

For some, there is nothing better than a sunrise, especially over the beautiful Queensland coast. On a recent trip up to Bargara, we packed Scotty’s car to the brim with a LOAD of kit in this year’s BCF Christmas catalogue. As well as the Nightfall tent, the big man–with the help of BCF’s own Sammy Hitzke–tested out a couple of Wanderer moon chairs and their Rugged Cart. What a weapon of a thing! Perfect for dragging the gear around the Bargara Beach Caravan Park. Such a pretty spot to stay for a little–or a long–break.

As you can imagine, the boys were super stoked on the new Savage Gear Manic combos. They did well on the banks of Baffle Creek, a very healthy system just up the road from Bundaberg. The boys set the hooks into a couple of estuary GTs as well as a few good-sized queenfish. Loads of fun!

Offshore, the Savage trend is still alive and kicking. Sammy put Scotty onto the Savage Gear 3D Octopus, a lure that… well… is exactly what it sounds like. These can be worked a number of ways. The boys had a bit of fun in 25 metres of water, latching into a few sweetlip, but Sammy says he has had just as much luck fast-burning them for mackerel and kingfish; such a versatile little lure. We headed out with Luke from Truansea Charters. The bloke knows his stuff and is a fantastic charter option if you’re looking for a fish in the Bundaberg region!

If there isn’t something in here to stuff a stocking this Christmas, why not head to your local BCF store? The team are super-knowledgeable and we can nearly guarantee they’ll be able to help you find the perfect outdoorsy gift this festive season.
