For 60 years have been keeping the beers (and food, we guess…) of Aussies cold in all of our country’s harshest conditions. It’s a true credit to a company to have that longevity under the belt, so to celebrate, Scotty decided to take Rick, a member of the Engel family, out off the Sunshine Coast to find a few fillets to fill their new 60th Anniversary, 40L fridge freezer.
After nabbing Rick his first (albeit undersize) Red Emperor, the boys found a nice show of bait and were rewarded with two beautiful Mulloway.
Ask any of Rick’s mates and they’ll tell you he spends a bit too much time on the water, but he assures us it’s all product testing! From Fridge Freezers to upright fridges and soft bags, the Engel range has truly expanded over the years. In part, thanks to their secret weapon, as Rick says;
“The Saua Fuji Swing Motor…So purpose built in Japan. To be a portable fridge compressor. Works on rare earth magnets. With one little piston that pumps at 50 revolutions a second.”
Their 60th Anniversary model is a beauty. Finished in the Engel Pearl colour and to top it off, the first in the range to be controlled by a smartphone.
