As the weather starts to warm up, you know what that means… summer is just around the corner! Which, of course, means time to get back on and into the water. In Queensland, we have plenty of beautiful beaches, but we’ve also got some pretty good freshwater spots too… perfect for boating, getting the kayak out, wakeboarding, plus jet and water skiing,
And a great spot to do all that is NRMA Somerset… an hour and a half drive in from Brisbane. On this day, Olivia and her mate, Heath, brought along his fully kitted Ranger that has the capabilities for something a little further afield… but that doesn’t mean it’s not up for a day trip either.
While it’s got all the bells and whistles, something that caught our attention is ARB’s new roof rack, the BASE rack… the perfect way to transport your goods, like a kayak.
It’s slim, it’s light and is a one-piece design. There’s no nuts or bolts, the unit literally comes ready to rock n roll, and more importantly, it utilises a dovetail system and cross beam design, so the configuration is completely up to your imagination. You can easily carry goods like jerry cans, recovery boards, gas bottles, and you can even mount your awning holder on it too! But the best part is removing what you need in a quick and efficient way… so, in this case, less time on land and more time in the water on the kayak… bonus.
