Surf Safari Road Trip

Surfers are spoiled for choice in Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. There’s every kind of wave they could want, from beach break to point break to reef break.

One of the stand out locations is Snapper Rocks to the north of Point Danger, on the Queensland side of the border.

Snapper is famous. It’s one of the longest and hollowest waves in the world. The best of the best have been their best there.

Byron Bay’s equally well-loved option is The Pass. It’s a beautiful wave that’s well protected and suits all levels of ability.

Getting between the two breaks can be no more than a one-hour drive, and when the waves are on then Reflections Holiday Parks Clarkes Beach is a short walk from the centre of Byron, and even closer to The Pass.

It’s well set up to accommodate all sorts of RVs, and it also offers beautifully designed cabins or the option of a classic Jayco caravan to guests who don’t have their own van or camper trailer.

The tourist park staff are used to last-minute bookings from surfers and other beach lovers who want to make the most of perfect conditions.

For those who live that sort of lifestyle, then Brisbane Camperland has a couple of awesome options for people who want to own their own travelling home away from home.

The JPod Outback is the perfect recreational vehicle for singles or couples who enjoy being spontaneous.

It’s a lightweight camper trailer that can be easily towed behind the average sedan or small SUV, and it’s equipped with roof racks for surfboards, a kayak or bikes.

It features a pull-out camp kitchen, a 45lt Sphere Fridge, a fan and 12v lighting, and the huge selling point is a very comfy innerspring mattress with plenty of storage space underneath.

The JPod Outback is built for adventuring with leaf spring suspension, JTECH independent suspension, and checker-plate protection.

There’s also the Jayco Campervan, which is ideal for solo adventurers and travelling duos who want a bit extra, and like the idea of all the bells and whistles of a motorhome, in the sleek size of a campervan. It can be driven by anyone holding a standard drivers’ license and is easy to manoeuvre onto a slab or campsite.

Aside from a well-equipped kitchen, and ensuite, other features include air conditioning, a continuous flow hot water system and double-glazed windows.

If either of these Jayco options sounds like the perfect set-up for you, then definitely speak to the team at Brisbane Camperland.

They have a huge range of models to walk you through, including the JPod Outback and Campervan.
