Perched high on the hills behind Cairns is a lush little spot called Mirimbi. The brain child of property owner Steve Collins, Mirimbi has incredible vistas, green surrounds and has access to bushwalks in rainforest that’s hundreds of millions of years old.
The best bit? You’re no more than 20minutes from town. Close to all the action, but feeling miles away, that’s a big tick for us.
Mirimbi welcomes Hipcampers to their property, but there are also a few glamping tents on offer, as well as an eco-tiny house! Pretty flash and super comfy.
Cairns and Tropical North Queensland are an explorers dream. Of course you have the party piece – the Great Barrier Reef, but if you’d prefer to stay on land, the amount of natural experiences on offer is near-endless. The Daintree Rainforest, the oldest in the world, is no more than an hours drive from Cairns. Take the cable car to Kuranda, maybe cool off one of the freshwater streams through Cairns or even further north in Mossman. Or why not take a drive to Port Douglas?
So why not book your spot, soak in the Tropical North climate and relax around Cairns.
