Peter Meyer has lived on Fraser Island for over 2 decades and has shown tens of thousands of people around the world’s biggest sand island.
Pete shares a few tips of where to fish and what’s been caught in this stunning paradise.
“Seriously, the fish that I’ve seen people catch on Fraser Island, West and East Coast is I seriously I can’t believe it.
Anything from Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon, all of those estuary sort of fish on the East Coast, Tailor and Jewfish.
I saw this bloke once catch a mackerel at the Maheno shipwreck and this thing was, I swear to God, was five feet long. It was unbelievable. It’s remarkable what you can catch here.
It is a fisherman’s paradise, and that’s what brings so many fishermen. Here it is. It is just this nirvana for fishermen.”
