Active on The Scenic Rim

Many believe the best way to have an enjoyable holiday to is to keep it simple. That applies to location, accommodation and activities. And for a great overnighter, the Scenic Rim offers plenty of simple escapes that pack in plenty of fun and natural beauty.

Mt Cordeaux at Cunningham’s Gap is a great example. The hike to the top is a leisurely 6.8kms return and the views at the top are some of the best in South East Queensland. Such a huge payoff for such an easy walk!

Literally 10 minutes down the road from Cunningham’s Gap is Bestbrook Farmstay. guests a range of genuine country experiences, all in one spot. Guests can enjoy feeding farm animals, horse riding, whip cracking, boomerang throwing and plenty more. Accommodation wise they’ve got a bunkhouse and self-contained cabins. Guests can also bring their own accommodation and set up anywhere they like on the giant property.

A great option for people who like to pack up and go at a moment’s notice is Brisbane Camperland’s Jayco J-pod.  It’s designed for two, tows easily behind your vehicle and has all the creature comforts. There’s a double bed, fridge, plenty of storage space, a hot shower, solar power and an external kitchen setup with a 2-burner cooktop. It’s a step up from the tent but not quite your full-sized camper trailer experience. It’s that sweet spot if you just want to pick up and go.
