All the fun from the 2021 Variety Bash: Longreach to Fraser

What do you get when 64 teams madly prep their vintage vehicles for an epic journey from Longreach to the Fraser Coast? Chaos? Yep! But charity is the true heart of this annual motoring event… welcome to the 2021 Variety Bash

To take part in the bash, each car has committed to raising at least $8,500… with one goal in sight: to give Aussie kids a fair go.  

To ordinary travellers, this journey is an easy thousand kays on bitumen… but for bashers, it’s a trek of more than twice that length – with plenty of detours off the beaten track… including stopping in at country schools to meet the kids who’ll benefit from the bashers’ 12 months of fundraising.  

Each day’s route comes as a surprise for the bashers – with instructions handed out the morning of. Only officials know the way – unless the weather has other plans!  

And while it brings a boost to the many towns it passes through… the real boost is the one brought to the kids. As part of the journey, Variety schedule a number of school stops… delivering grants of equipment and services to kids who need it most.
