BCFing Guide to Summer: Watersports

It’s not an Aussie Summer without a few trips to the beach. It’s the perfect time of year to get a little wet behind the ears. Of all the places around South East Queensland, we reckon the creeks of the Gold Coast offer a load of opportunities for any number of aquatic activities…and with Christmas just around the corner, it’s the right time to be looking at what you’ll need to make your trip to the beach an awesome one this summer.

When the weather is mint, you’ll undoubtedly see handfuls of well-balanced water-goers, atop their stand up paddleboards (SUPS). What a great way to cruise along the creeks, under paddle while working on that core strength! To keep things practical, why not look into an inflatable SUP? Tahwalhi have an awesome range of SUPS that take only a jiffy to inflate and are incredibly stable. Couple that with one of their 12volt pump, and you’ll be on the water in no time.

I’m sure we’re not the only ones who grew up with a kayak sitting in the back shed, that got a run a few times a year. Particularly over the Summer months! Well, if the old girl is looking a little worse for wear, it’s high time for an upgrade! Glide’s range of kayaks is nothing short of extensive. Could we recommend the Santorini 260 sit on top? It’s such a stable, entry-level vessel perfect for a bit of fishing, adventuring or just cruising. Not a bad Christmas present idea too (hint, hint).

Finally, who doesn’t love a tow toy?! We reckon it’s just as much fun being a passenger on one, as it is to be the skipper, trying to fling the riders off! A great option for families are multi-person tow toys. That way the kids can enjoy all the heart-pumping action on the tube together, while mum and dad watch from the boat.

Get out and hit the water this Summer. BCF is jam-packed with all the gear we’ve mentioned in this article, and WAY more. They have plenty of gift ideas too, you can check out their Christmas Catalogue online or in-store now.
