Camping on a Retired Fish Farm Found on Hipcamp

Just a stone’s throw from the QLD/NSW border is a little gem of a Hipcamp property known as Jalum. It’s the Bungella word for fish, which is fitting, as this place is a retired fish farm.

Stacked with Silver Perch, there are a handful of dams that the owners have maintained, adding a different element to your stay.

If fishing isn’t your thing, just ask one of the hosts, Georgia, about a horse-riding experience.

“Honestly, from the crack of dawn all you hear are kids running around giggling, horses neighing, people casting out their reels. It’s a pretty hard thing to beat.”

“We’ve got roughly fifty acres here, give or take. We’ve got everything from forests to rolling hills and pastures with horses” We like the sound of that, Georgia!

You can check out Jalum, as well as any number of other unreal campsites on Hipcamp.
