Exploring Hinze Dam

Gold Coast is famous for its pristine beaches and even better surf.  On this week’s Creek to Coast Liz explored aa far flatter, but the equally beautiful body of water in the Gold Coast Hinterland; the Hinze Dam.  She is joined by Matt Wellington from SEQ Water to explore some of the sights – both on and off the water.

While it may not be surprising to learn that Hinze Dam is a great place for kayaking and fishing – it is also a fun destination for mountain bike riders – with a great little mountain bike park sitting on the edge of the dam wall.

A fun way to take in the sights of the dam is on a kayak – especially on hot day.  In this story, Liz dons her lifejacket and sun protection and discovers some special fishing spots and takes in some serene scenery.
