With ships, boats and watercraft of all different sizes using the facility, it’s good to understand the requirements of different boats using this shared space.   Large commercial boats and ships are constrained by draft and need to utlise the best channel to get in and out which is often annoying and perilous to smaller boats.

When you consider that some of the bigger boats coming in and out of the harbour are up to 250 metres long and if a smaller boat gets under their bow they’re virtually invisible.
