Fishing checklist for Rainbow Beach

Just under two hours north of the Sunshine Coast is picturesque paradise… Rainbow Beach. It’s such a beautiful spot that it would be a shame to leave the sand, which is why beach fishing here is so popular!

BCF have everything you’ll need if you’re heading out on the sand for yourself – be sure to ask in store for the right gear to suit what you’re chasing.

If you want to head to Rainbow Beach for some beach time of your own, Plantation Resort at Rainbow is our pick for accommodation.

You won’t find a better location, right in the heart of town, and you can just pop across the road to the beach.

The units are more than generously-sized, great for families and there are one, two or three bedroom configurations. The ensuites have a spa bath, perfect for relaxing after a day on the beach.

The ocean views are second to none, and if you think the outlook is impressive, wait till you see the rooftop terrace! Book your spot… and tell them Creek sent you.

For whiting and dart, a lightly tapered rod.

Long shank hook.

BAIT

Locally caught beach worms work a treat.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Pockets and gutters. In the shallower waters, you’re best to aim for the white-wash as it provides shelter from birds of prey.

EXTRA TIP

You’ll catch more fish if you take two or three fish from a gutter then move along as the fish can get spooked.
