Gary’s tips for launching and retrieving your boat at the ramp

You know, life has got a funny way of throwing us curveballs, and sometimes, mistakes and mishaps just come with the territory. So, here are a few tips from Gary on the do’s and don’ts that can make your boating day a ripper of a time!

  • Tie-down straps: Preventing your pride and joy from taking a tumble off the trailer is priority one. Best to take these tie-down straps off in the rigging area, before you launch.
  • Raise your motor: Be sure to raise your motor so it doesn’t bang the ramp when launching the boat!
  • Reverse like a pro: Line up with the pontoon on your right for easy-peasy maneuvering. No need for stress – just cruise into that spot like a legend.
  • Slippery ramps: Beware of thongs – take them off to avoid slipping… particularly as you approach the water’s edge.
  • Use your rope: Ever had your boat make a break for it? Hang onto that rope before you give it a gentle shove.
