Hipcamp’s Kingsland Camping

Queensland has no shortage of stellar mountain climbs.

Mount Maroon, a couple of hours out of Brisbane, is the gateway to some of its bigger brothers like Mount Warning and Mount Barney but don’t be fooled, at almost 1000m high, it’ll get the heart pumping.

The ascent takes about an hour and a half with the mountain’s summit delivering stunning 360-degree views overlooking the Scenic Rim and McPherson Range.

If you’re up for the challenge (and the reward at the top) why not make a weekend of it?

At the base of the mountain is Kingsland Camping. It sits on 64 hectares surrounded by glorious National Park.

With four sites to choose from each set on 1500sqm, there’s plenty of room to unpack, unwind and relax.

Spot a koala, enjoy a campfire, or simply kick back and take in the five-star views of the million-star skies.

If you’re keen to explore a little further, the Scenic Rim, Lake Moogara and Maroon Dam are all close too.

Kingsland is just one of the amazing properties you can find on Hipcamp, a website dedicated to tent camping, caravan parks, cabins and glamping.
