Surfing on Straddie

One the best things about living in Southeast Queensland is that North Stradbroke Island or Minjerribah is right on our doorstep. There couldn’t be a better place to enjoy a weekend getaway. And best of all, it’s so easy!

It’s just a 45-minute ferry ride with Sealink. It’s a lovely trip. There’s a café on board, amenities, and plenty of room for your vehicle.

The ferry will get you to Dunwich, and then it’s just a 20-minute drive along bitumen roads to Point Lookout. A vehicle that was designed for an island like Straddie is the Isuzu D-MAX. It’s great on the bitumen but was built for tough off road Aussie conditions. It has a towing capacity of 3.5tonnes which means it can haul trailers, boats and caravans without any trouble. It’s comfy inside and has all the latest, cutting-edge features.
