Stockyard Point

Situated north of Yeppoon and within beautiful Byfield National Park, this glorious area can only be accessed by four-wheel drive.

The path to Stockyard Point will take you through dirt roads, fresh water creeks, sandy tracks and one last barrier to entry – a one kilometer sand dune called Big Sandy.

Low tyre pressure is an absolute must when attempting to conquer Big Sandy, but the effort will be worth it, as the view over Byfield National Park is a beauty.

What lies at the end is one of the prettiest spots in the state, Stockyard Point. A tiny township with a population of 13, Stockyard Point is the perfect place to explore fresh water creeks, beautiful Nine Mile beach, walking tracks, 4-wheel drive tracks and on most days, empty beaches and bays.

While there are plenty of camping options in the area, a great place to base yourself, family or friends, is Five Rocks Holiday Rentals. This two-story beach house is owned by the Clare Family. Their family has been visiting the area for generations and know very well how perfect the spot is for families. You can enjoy days upon days of relaxing, reading, swimming, exploring, fishing, or quite simply… Nothing.
