With the amount of travelling everyone does these days, two piece rods are almost a must. They pull apart easily and store a lot more easily in the car. But there are a couple of things you should be aware of to hold the rod securely and to avoid potential breakage.
Often what happens is many people push the two pieces of the rod together until there is a firm fit. But what can happen is minute fractures can occur. Then, when you least expect it, the rod breaks!
The solution is when you put the two halves together, put one half at 45 degrees to the other and then twist it and lock it into position. It’ll be very secure and will require a lot to pull out. But it won’t create any minute fractures.
Also important is going through the same process when pulling the two halves apart.
