Stradbroke Season

The winter racing carnival is here and it’s time to dust off that favourite suit and head to the races.

The Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival takes place during May and June each year in with quality feature racing action taking place at both Doomben and Eagle Farm racecourses.

Both the Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap attract quality sprinters from the southern states of Australia and the honour roll for both races has many a good horse’s name etched upon it.

A grand celebration will close Stradbroke Season with a myriad of flavours, entertainment set to enthral and unparalleled thoroughbred racing.

Be a part of history as we witness the next winner of Queensland’s most prestigious race, the $1.5 million Group One Stradbroke Handicap.

Supporting the great sprint is the thrilling Group One J.J. Atkins, featuring Australia’s most promising young horses, in addition to the Group Two Dane Ripper and a further five black-type races, which amount to almost $5 million prizemoney on the day.

We caught up with jockeys Ryan Wiggins and Baylee Nothdurft to see how their season is going and to catch a flatty or two.
