Why kids love caravanning

Exploring Australia via caravan is a great adventure for the whole family. The sights that you see… the memories you make… and, of course, the friendships you create all make for one cracking vacation!

Somewhere that ticks all those boxes is Broadwater Tourist Park. Boasting one of the best views on the Gold Coast, it’s no wonder it’s a big hit with the families… here’s what the kids had to say!

What’s your favourite thing to do when on holidays at a caravan park?

  • Play on the jumping pillows and playgrounds
  • Go fishing
  • Swimming at the beach and in the pool
  • Riding bikes
  • Making lots of friends!

Who helps Mum and Dad with the set up?

“Not me. No way. We run away while the parents are setting up, so we don’t have to help!”

Who’s the best cook?

“Basically, one family cooks each night. One night we had chicken wings, and the next was salmon!” – very fancy!

Who reverses the caravan?

“THE DADS! But it’s not that they can’t do it, it’s just that the dads do it first!”

It was also lovely to hear…

“I’m not usually on my phone when camping or caravanning. You finally realise the outside world, away from your phone. It’s better than just sitting in a house all day, on computer games. Instead, you get fresh air and do stuff that’s still fun”.

Something that brings everyone together is a party. And Broadwater Tourist Park sure know how to throw one! Come school holidays, the kids won’t even need to look beyond these boundaries to cure boredom.

Live music has your entertainment sorted, food trucks has your dinner covered, and a disco for the kids is sure to burn off any extra energy. Check out their Facebook page for a calendar of events – it’s a hoot!

So, for your next holiday, let the kids pick a place they haven’t been. The Caravanning Queensland website has plenty of inspiration, hints and tips!
