Bright and early, at 6am this morning, we launched our second Facebook LIVE episode of Fish & Tips with Scotty Hillier on the Sunshine Coast (in Scotty’s very own man cave!)
Today you may notice our backdrop looks a little different to last time… yes, you asked, and we listened! We decided to jazz up Scotty’s hood with some of his favourite knick-knacks; a surf board, casting nets, fishing lures of course… his pet crab, and a retro “ON AIR” sign from our Channel 7 Studio in Brisbane.
Of course we talked all things fishing, with Scotty answering some questions that had been sent in since the last Facebook LIVE and any that were asked during this live. And remember, if you haven’t had your question answered yet, join us for the next Facebook LIVE episode of Fish & Tips on Thursday August 22 at 6am (see here for the schedule for other dates!)
This morning we heard from:
- Billy, who asked “Are snapper thick at the moment in South East Queensland?”, and “What did you use to catch the snapper when you were out fishing for Creek to Coast and BCF in Mooloolaba last week?”
- Matthew, who asked “Have you been out off Rainbow lately?”
- Paul, who asked “What’s the best bait for catching bream under the Maroochy River bridge?”
- Andrew, who asked “Did you catch that fish that jumped in the background of your Facebook video in Ballina?”
- Brett, who asked “Do you scale or skin your fish before eating?”
- Katie, who asked “Scotty, tell us more about the big GT you managed to score in Mackay? What did you use?”
- Sarah, who asked “Any tips on how to throw a cast net?”
- James, who asked “What’s the best time of the year to catch flat head?”
- Peter, who asked “When’s the best time to catch squid around Old Woman Island on the Sunshine Coast?”
- Chris, who asked “When will the Spanish Mackerel return to the Sunshine Coast waters?”
- Blake, who asked “Scotty, any upcoming trips for Creek to Coast?”
- Jack, who asked “Do you prefer live bait or strip bait for Mangrove Jack?”
So watch the above to find out what the answers are, and tune in for another exciting episode next Thursday the 22nd August at 06:00…we may even be on location up North. If you do have any questions, please send them through via Facebook messenger and we’ll make sure to pass them onto the Big Man!
